Sebastian Beck-Watt is a lawyer and Canadian trademark agent. Sebastian advises on the acquisition, protection, enforcement, and commercialization of intellectual property in a variety of sectors. He has experience in a range of intellectual property and related areas, including trademarks, copyright, marketing and advertising, licensing, and domain name matters. Sebastian has worked with clients across a range of industries to manage their international trademark portfolios, including trademark strategy, clearance, and prosecution, as well as handling cancellation and opposition proceedings. Sebastian also regularly provides advice and assists with enforcement and dispute resolution in intellectual property and related matters. He has appeared before the Trademarks Opposition Board and the Federal Court.
Sebastian graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, he interned at a major Canadian news and media organization, was an active member of IP Osgoode – Osgoode Hall’s Intellectual Property Law & Technology Program, and worked as a research assistant for leading intellectual property professors. He previously received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Ottawa and worked in the financial services industry for several years.
Prior to joining PCK, Sebastian was an intellectual property associate at a full-service law firm and at a boutique intellectual property law firm, both in Toronto. He also clerked for a judge at the Federal Court of Canada and articled at a national intellectual property law firm in Ottawa.
