PCK IP Releases 4th Edition of Canadian Patent Law

PCK Intellectual Property is thrilled to announce the launch of the 4th edition of Canadian Patent Law!

Co-authors Stephen Perry and Andrew Currier have drawn on years of experience in the field of IP to craft a complete resource for the patent prosecutor. With a forward provided by the Honourable Roger T. Hughes, the book explores both the practical and theoretical issues faced by patent lawyers and patent agents in everyday practice.

The fourth edition of the book was written following the 2019 modernization of Canada’s patent regime, in which substantive amendments were made to the Patent Act for the first time since 1996. To help patent prosecutors navigate the amended Act, the new Patent Rules, and the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents, the text has been substantially overhauled in the 4th edition. Readers will also benefit from an insightful analysis of the recent decision in Choueifaty v Canada (Attorney General), 2020 FC 837 and the author’s predictions for the future of claim construction in Canada.
